Ever wondered what happens at Wellington Zoo as the sun goes down?

This February Wellington Zoo is open until 8pm every Wednesday for Zoo Twilights giving everyone an opportunity to experience Wellington Zoo at dusk.

Evening visitors will be able to enjoy the full Zoo experience – with animal talks as well as evening Close Encounters available each Wednesday.

The Zoo is a magical place in the evening and you might hear different animals call or engage with the animals that are less active during the day.

This year, Wellington Zoo’s new Meet the Locals He Tuku Aroha precinct also offers something different. The Kororā Little Blue Penguin in Meet the Locals He Tuku Aroha will be great to watch as they are at their most active at dusk when the temperature is cooler.

Zoo Twilights starts on Wednesday 3 February and continues on Wednesday 10, 17 and 24 February.
