You’re welcome to bring your own food and snacks to enjoy during your day at the Zoo. There are picnic tables throughout the Zoo for when you need a moment to rest and refuel. There are a few water fountains in the Zoo, but it pays to bring a water bottle with you.
Mojo Zoo is right by the Zoo entrance, and serves great coffee so you can get your caffeine hit for the day, as well as a wide range of tasty food. Choose from delicious counter snacks, or order from the menu for a full meal. All chicken, pork, and egg products at Mojo Zoo are free-farmed.
The Grazing Post is located in the centre of the Zoo, and is the go-to stop for a quick bite to eat while you’re exploring the Zoo. You’ll find a range of hot foods such as nachos and hot chips. The Grazing Post also has a range of drink options and snacks such as fresh fruit, yogurt pots, whole food bars, crisps, ice-creams and cookies.
In our Zoo Shop, we've sourced a range of beautiful sustainable and local products so you know that you're making great choices.
Our beautiful collection of soft toys mean you can remember your favourite animal long after your visit.
We’ve collaborated with designers to create products unique to Wellington Zoo.
You can find toilets and accessible toilets throughout the Zoo, as well as parent rooms with baby-changing facilities and breast-feeding facilities.
Keep an eye out for our recycling bins throughout the Zoo, and help us help the environment by choosing the right bin for your rubbish!
You can hire a pushchair when you visit the Zoo to help your young ones enjoy their day. They’re just $10 to hire, with a $10 bond (which we’ll give you back when you return it).
Caregivers of disabled persons are given complimentary entry to the Zoo upon presentation of suitable supporting documentation or identification.
We have four designated mobility car parks in the Newtown Park car park right next to the Zoo, and one right outside Mojo Zoo.
Wheelchairs are available free of charge – just ask our friendly Visitor Advisors when you arrive. There are toilets with wheelchair access throughout the Zoo. The Zoo is on a hill, and our Visitor Advisors can show you which pathways are more accessible.
Please contact us if you would like to bring an assistance dog with you. We just need to make sure that they have been fully vaccinated before you arrive.
