While the Zoo is open during Level 2, we’re taking extra precautions for the safety of our visitors, staff and animals, so we will be operating a little differently for now.
To ensure your safety and to help with physical distancing during Level 2 there will be no animal talks and other special products like Close Encounters and Behind the Scenes experiences will also be suspended. Some areas of the Zoo will be closed so visitors can maintain physical distancing.
We really appreciate your patience and understanding.
6 & 7 November
To thank our members for supporting Wellington wildlife, we have arranged a special membership weekend with Zealandia for our Zoo Crew members.
On 6 and 7 November, Zoo Crew members can visit Zealandia free of charge when you show your Zoo Crew pass, as well as a 10% discount at Rātā café!
Zealandia members will also be able to visit the Zoo for free in return.
We have collaborated with Zealandia over the past 20 years to welcome Wellington's wildlife enthusiasts and work together to care for indigenous species.
If you're one of our Zoo Crew members, this is your chance to experience this world-renowned conservation success only minutes from Wellington’s CBD, for free. Zealandia is an ecosanctuary that is home to over 40 rare native species including tuatara, kākā and takahē living in the wild.
After exploring the ecosanctuary, have a chat to their team about becoming a Zealandia member too.
T's and C's apply.
