As an outdoor space we encourage you to visit us at Wellington Zoo. As long as you are feeling healthy and well and are not in self-isolation, the Zoo is a great place to get outside and spend some time with friends, whānau and the amazing animals. We hope to see you soon!

Are you still open?
Wellington Zoo remains open during Alert Level 1 & Level 2.
Do we need to book tickets or are you open for walk ins?
Pre-bookings are not compulsory for Zoo entry during Level 1. You can buy your tickets online or at the Zoo entrance. We still encourage visitors to sign in using the NZCOVID Tracer app.
Are you accepting cash payments?
Yes we are accepting cash on-site during Level 1.
Are your Zoo Talks on?
Yes, during Level 1 our popular Zoo Talks are still scheduled daily.
Are your Close Encounters on?
Yes, Close Encounters and Behind the Scenes Experiences take place during Level 1.
Have your opening hours changed?
During Level 1 & 2 the Zoo is still open every day, except Christmas Day, 9.30am - 5pm.
I have tried to call the Zoo, but no one is answering
