Bed down for the night in the Zoo’s Archibald Centre overlooking Monkey Island or in the Living classroom, ideal for school and community groups. Let one of our guides show you the secret life of Zoo animals and people. Light supper and breakfast, accommodation and sleeping rolls are provided.
Sleepovers start at 7pm. Once you’ve dropped your gear off in your room, you’ll head out for a special night time tour of Wellington Zoo where you’ll see behind the scenes of the animal kitchen and find out which animals are more active when they have the Zoo to themselves. After your night tour, you’ll head back to your room for a light supper before bedding down for the night.
In the morning after breakfast, you’ll go for another special guided walk exploring as the Zoo wakes up for the day. Your sleepover ends at 10am.
- Your group can be 25 – 80 people
- You must be at least 5 years old
- $30 per person (GST incl.)
- 7.00pm until 10.00am the next morning
Please bring along sleeping bags and pillows, warm clothes and a camera, groups are welcome to bring their own mattresses.

Zoopreme Sleepovers
For a fantastic slumber party have a Zoopreme sleepover. Sleepovers start at 7pm. After your night tour, you’ll head back to your room for supper before bedding down for the night.
In addition to the behind the scenes evening and morning tours, you'll be given a yummy birthday cake for supper and breakfast from Velluto Café at the Zoo. In the morning you’ll receive a special visit from two of our friendly contact animals.
